Following her husband’s death, she wrote a children’s book about grief, titled ‘Are You With Me?’.

Richins maintains her innocence.

Background

Earlier this year, a jury found her guilty of aggravated murder, as well as insurance fraud, attempted murder, and forgery. Prosecutors also alleged Richins was facing financial troubles and having an extramarital affair.

Sentence

On Wednesday (local time), a Utah court sentenced Richins to life in prison without parole for murdering her husband.

Richins has consistently maintained her innocence and pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Ahead of the sentencing, one of her children told the court they were “afraid if she gets out, she will come after me and my brothers,” according to The Guardian.
