AFLW trailblazer Daisy Pearce has retired

Daisy Pearce, one of the first generation of AFLW stars, has retired.

Pearce, 34, has captained the Melbourne Demons in the AFLW since the competition began in 2017. She is one of the game’s most recognisable faces and led the Demons to their first premiership in 2022.

Pearce said it was an “emotional” decision but she left “with a very full heart… It’s a special thing to be a part of.” Pearce will continue to work as a commentator and will also take up a role in coaching.
