Hillsong Church founder Brian Houston has resigned after the conclusion of an internal investigation into claims he behaved inappropriately towards two women. The investigation found he had breached the Church’s Code of Conduct.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Hillsong Board said they had accepted the resignation and acknowledged “change is needed”. They also committed to a review of their “governance structure and processes”.
Earlier this year, Houston stepped down from leadership roles within the Church after he was charged with allegedly covering up his father’s sexual abuse.
