Nearly 75% of Victoria’s new lawyers in the 2021-22 period were women, a new report has revealed.

Women now make up 53% of all practising lawyers in the state. In 1997, women made up 27% of Victoria’s lawyers.

The finding is from the the Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner 2022 annual report, which was tabled in Parliament in December.
