A man in Fiji has been charged with the sexual assault of a female Virgin Australia flight attendant early on New Year’s Day.
The 24-year-old was denied bail yesterday and is expected to face the High Court later this month. He faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
On the same night, another Virgin Australia crew member was allegedly robbed.
Sexual assault of Virgin Australia flight attendant
On New Year’s Eve, Virgin Australia crew members attended a club in Nadi, Fiji, called Bar One.
Lockout laws in Fiji require bars to close at 1am, at which point the woman left.
Police allege the Virgin Australia flight attendant was offered a ride by an unregistered taxi in Fiji and faced sexual assault.
