Mass outages have been reported in Australia this afternoon across banking, telecommunications, and several other industries.

According to Downdetector – a website that displays crowdsourced reports of outages – customers from multiple banks including Bendigo, CommBank, NAB, Suncorp and ME Bank are having trouble logging in online and via mobile apps.

There are reports the outages are tied to a cybersecurity update by tech company Crowdstrike.

Bendigo Bank said it’s aware of an issue affecting “our e-banking and app.”

The bank said it was working to restore services as quickly as possible.

According to Downdetector, at least 1,500 customers reported problems logging in to Bendigo Bank’s services on Friday afternoon.

TDA has reached out to the Cybersecurity Minister for comment.
