A police officer has been shot and killed in regional South Australia.
Paramedics were called to the scene near the state’s border with Victoria last night, but the officer could not be revived.
Another police officer and the alleged perpetrator were also shot.
The officers were called to a rural property near the town of Senior. SA police say they were “confronted by an armed suspect” and a “shooting incident” occurred.
A second police officer was taken to hospital in Adelaide and is receiving treatment for non-life threatening wounds.
The alleged perpetrator sustained serious injuries and remains under police guard in hospital as investigations continue.
