The Democrats will hold control of the Senate after narrow victories in Nevada, New Hampshire and Arizona.
It means Joe Biden’s party will be able to control the passage of legislation that makes it to the Senate, as well as control the process for confirming judges and executive branch appointees.
However, the Republican Party looks most likely to win the 218 seats needed to control the House. A number of key seats remain undecided.
