Two children have suffered serious burns after a classroom chemical explosion

11 students and one teacher at a primary school on Sydney’s Northern Beaches have been treated by paramedics for burns after a classroom science experiment created a chemical explosion.

Two students – both aged around 10 – from Manly West Public School suffered severe burns, with one student being airlifted to a nearby hospital. Others were treated at the scene, and transported to hospital for further treatment.
