Australia won one medal on the final day, courtesy of opening ceremony flag bearer and five-time Paralympian Madison de Rozario, who claimed silver in the women’s T54 marathon. 

Lauren Parker goes for her third medal at the Paris Paralympics after winning gold in the triathlon and silver in the road cycling time trial.

It’s not all bad for Clifford though. Competing at his third Paralympics, he is a decorated three-time medallist from Tokyo (two silver, one bronze) and has aspirations to race at future Paralympics.

These classifications are used to categorise Paralympians based on their disability so that para-athletes are competing against people with a similar capacity.

Australian Paralympians will get paid the same as Olympians for winning medals at Paris, the Australian Government has announced.

A new report has warned that athletes risk cramping, exhaustion, injury, heat stroke or even death from competing in severe heat.

The trials, held at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre, will last six days and culminate in the official announcement of the Australian Olympic and Paralympic swimming team (coined ‘The Dolphins’).
