NSW Police have been offered a pay rise of up to 39% while nurses and midwives strike across the state for better wages.

The NSW Teachers Federation, which represents teachers in the state, negotiated a 3% pay rise each year for three years.

NSW nurses and midwives are calling for a 15% pay increase and have entered a negotiation period with the State Government.

It comes after Qantas engineers walked off the job on Thursday amid an ongoing pay dispute.

On Monday, the union was told by a Government body to shut down its plans for today’s nurses and midwives strike.

On 15 July, NSW nurses and midwives began industrial action for a pay increase by wearing badges. On Monday 22 July, rallies commenced.

NSW paramedics will receive an average pay increase of 25% over the next four years, and will bring their wages in line with other states.

Australian netball players boycotted the sport’s major awards night on Saturday over an ongoing pay dispute with the governing body.
