Virgin Airlines has announced it is closer to allowing pets (small dogs and cats) on domestic flights, having received approval from Australia’s food safety body.

Food Standards Australia and New Zealand has ruled food can be served in-flight while cats and dogs are present, “provided all relevant food safety requirements are met.”

A Virgin spokesperson told TDA the airline “looks forward to sharing more details with travellers about our trial flights in the coming months”.
