The team went into the sold-out qualifier with a three-goal lead, following a win over an at-home Uzbekistan on Saturday night.

The Aussies will join 11 other countries in the Olympic women’s football tournament in Paris this July-August.

Australia is part of the Asian Football Confederation. Teams from the region play for one of two Olympic places.

The Matildas had a strong run throughout their qualifying games, including an 8-0 win against the Philippines in Perth last year.
