The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has announced March 2025 was the warmest since records began in 1910.

The temperature around the country was 2.41°C above the average recorded from 1961 to 1990.

The previous record, set in 2019, was 2.03°C above the average.

It was the warmest March on record for NSW, South Australia, and Western Australia, contributing to the national average record.

For Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory, it was within the top 10 hottest months of March on record.

Queensland also experienced its third wettest March since 1900.

Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred made landfall in South East Queensland and northern NSW in early March.
