‘TDA HECS RELIEF’ Giveaway - The Daily Aus Holdings Pty Ltd

Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility:

a. Entrants must be current undergraduate university students enrolled in an accredited Australian university or TAFE.

b. Entrants must be legal residents of Australia.

c. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age.

d. Employees of The Daily Aus Holdings Pty Ltd, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household are not eligible to participate.

2. Entry Requirements:

a. Entrants must sign up for The Daily Aus' newsletter within the competition period using a valid email address via the dedicated ‘TDA HECS RELIEF’ landing page (www.thedailyaus.com.au/hecsgiveaway)

b. Only one entry per person is allowed. Multiple entries will result in disqualification.

c. By entering, participants warrant that all information submitted is true, current, and complete.

3. Competition Period:

The competition begins on Wednesday, 31 July 2024, at 12:00 AM AEST and ends on Wednesday, 14 August 2024, at 11:59 PM AEST.

4. Prize:

a. The prize consists of payment for the value of one semester's university fees for the winner, delivered via an electronic fund transfer (EFT).

b. The maximum value of the prize is $10,000.00 AUD.

c. The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash.

d. Any costs associated with claiming or redeeming the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.

5. Winner Selection:

a. The winner will be selected randomly from all eligible entries.

b. The winner will be notified via email within four business days of the competition's end.

c. The winner must respond within five business days of notification to claim the prize. Failure to respond within this period may result in forfeiture of the prize and selection of an alternate winner.

d. The Daily Aus Holdings Pty Ltd's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

6. Verification:

a. The winner must provide proof of current university enrollment and fee statement to claim the prize.

b. The Daily Aus Holdings Pty Ltd reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which, in the company's sole discretion, is considered not to be in accordance with these terms and conditions.

7. Payment of Prize:

a. The prize amount will be paid directly to the winner's nominated bank account.

b. The prize is not intended to be viewed as ordinary or statutory income. The winner agrees to seek their own tax advice, and any tax liability arising from the prize is the sole responsibility of the winner.

c. The winner agrees to provide The Daily Aus Holdings Pty Ltd with remittance advice demonstrating the full amount has been paid to the winner's university or TAFE, or as a voluntary contribution to the winner's HECS/HELP Loan Account within 30 days of receiving the prize.

8. Privacy:

a. By entering, participants agree to The Daily Aus Holdings Pty Ltd using their personal information to conduct this competition and for marketing purposes in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

b. Participants may opt-out of receiving marketing communications at any time.

9. Intellectual Property:

The Daily Aus Holdings Pty Ltd reserves the right to use the winner's name, likeness, and entry for publicity purposes without compensation, unless prohibited by law.

10. Limitation of Liability:

a. The Daily Aus Holdings Pty Ltd and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained in connection with this competition or accepting or using any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

b. The Daily Aus Holdings Pty Ltd will not be responsible for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the course of or in connection with this promotion if the deficiency is occasioned by any cause outside the reasonable control of The Daily Aus Holdings Pty Ltd.

11. General:

a. The Daily Aus Holdings Pty Ltd reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the competition at any time without notice if it becomes necessary to do so.

b. By entering, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

c. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, any social media platform.

d. Failure by The Daily Aus Holdings Pty Ltd to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

12. Governing Law:

This competition is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Participants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
