The new rules for first home buyers

Buying your first home just got easier… the Government hopes. Its new home ownership scheme comes into effect from today, allowing first-time purchasers to secure a home with a 5% deposit, down from the standard 20%.  The Government says it wants to ensure more renters own a home but the Opposition has called it "a dark day for the Australian dream".
